• Title I, Part A - What does it mean?

The Title I, Part A program provides financial assistance to state and local educational agencies to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. All ACS schools operate school-wide Title I programs. For a school to be eligible to initiate a school-wide program, at least 40 percent of its students must come from low-income families. In a school-wide program, the school system may consolidate federal, state, and local funds to upgrade the entire educational program of the school and is not required to identify particular children as eligible beneficiaries.
