Let’s make this year the best one yet!

We have several new principals this year!

    • Ashley Browne at Albertville Intermediate School
    • Steven Hudgins at Albertville High School
    • Tyler Reeves at Albertville Innovation Academy

    ACADEMIC CALENDAR

Students will return to school on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

All students in grades 1-12 will start school on the same day this year.

AKPK will be the only school with a staggered start. Start days for AKPK students are as follows:

    • Aug. 7 - Last name begins with A-H.
    • Aug. 8 - Last name begins with I-P.
    • Aug. 9 - Last name begins with Q-Z.

Be sure to check out the academic calendar and events calendar for all the important dates and events throughout the school year.

    BREAKFAST AND LUNCH

Breakfast and lunch are FREE for students again this year! Albertville City Schools will be participating in the USDA Community Eligibility Program, which allows all students in our school system to eat breakfast and lunch at no charge each day.

Meal applications will not be required for students to participate. Any purchase of extra meals or a-la-carte items can be purchased with cash in hand or from the student meal account. Students will continue to use their assigned lunch number at the registers to ensure accurate record keeping.

    • View the Menus for August.
    • Need to add money to your student’s account? We use LinqConnect to do this.
    • Be sure to go like Aggie Nutrition on Facebook to stay up-to-date on menus and more CNP information, plus get a glimpse into our cafeterias!
    • Does your child have a food allergy or dietary restriction? Be sure to read this letter and complete the Diet Prescription for Meals at School Form. This paperwork must be updated yearly. Also, if your child previously had a dietary restriction but no longer requires certain food(s) to be omitted from their diet, please let us know.

    IMMUNIZATIONS AND MEDICATIONS

It’s important for all Pre-K, kindergarten and 11-year old students, as well as those who have never received vaccines, to be up-to-date on their immunizations before school starts. Required vaccines can be administered at the Marshall County Health Department or your child’s pediatrician’s office. Please contact them to schedule an appointment. Ensuring your child is vaccinated helps minimize the spread of diseases in our schools. If you have any questions, reach out to your student’s school nurse.

Does your child need to take medication while at school? All medications will have to have a School Medication Prescriber/Parent Authorization Form signed by a physician.

    PARENT NOTES

This year, the number of parent notes available to students have decreased. Five parent notes per semester that will excuse one day per parent note will be accepted. If a student is out more than one day, a parent note for each day will be required until all parent notes are used. After the student has used five parent notes for absences in the semester, a doctor’s note will be required. More information regarding student absences can be found in the handbooks.

    SCHOOL HANDBOOKS

Many of the most commonly asked questions are answered in the handbooks, including student codes of conduct, dress codes, attendance information and more!
